The Panther offense is loaded with quarterback Nick Patti, running back Dee Hart, and a host of play-makers on the outside including Chris Gallon. A physical offensive line opens completes what should be one of the state's most rounded offenses.
Defensively, they were just as dominant. Linebacker LaQuentin Smith, safety Rodrick Ryles, and defensive back Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix headline a swift unit that plays the game with an edge. Clinton-Dix is one of the more physical DBs we have seen in years, he lined up some at CB and S on Tuesday night. There is a ton of depth here and 3-4 players who are poised to step up and make a name for themselves in 2010.
While the result was not what East Ridge was looking for, we saw plenty of positives. Physically this is a big, strong team and they fought hard. The Knight's just made too many mistakes. Quarterback Mike Ferrara-Weed found WR Dante Campbell on a couple of hook up's down the field while the defense was really flying to the football. The Knight's are not far away and could easily surprise next year.
