Playoffs: Week 2 Review

Another thrilling week of high school football action in the Sunshine State, Miami's Booker T. Washington was sent home by Belen, two time defending champ Jupiter Christian will not be around to defend, and Apopka outlasted Dr. Phillips in five OT's.

HEADLINING RESULTS

Miami Central(11-1) knocked off Miami Northwestern 29-16. The win revenged an earlier defeat and is the second year in a row the team's split games. They play South Dade next week at Harris Field.

Apopka(11-1) needed 5 OT's to send unbeaten Dr. Phillips home, the final was 58-52. The Blue Darters travel to Treasure Coast next week.

Countryside(11-1) ended Tampa Bay Tech's season with a 47-20 victory, they host defending State Champ Plant on Friday night.

Ely(11-1) beat Boyd Anderson 34-26, they host St. Thomas for the Region Title.

Lincoln's(9-3) playoff run continues after a hard fought 20-14 win over Columbia. The Trojan's host Niceville.

Charlotte(11-1) is in the Regional Finals for the 2nd year in a row after a 24-16 win over previously unbeaten Cape Coral. The Tarpon's will host Armwood next week.

3A favorite Booker T. Washington is out after being stunned by Belen 19-17. Belen will host Westwood for the Region Championship.

Pensacola(11-1) gave Andrew Jackson their first loss with a 7-6 win. They travel to St. Augustine for the quarterfinals.

Lehigh's(7-5) 28-14 victory over South Ft. Myers(10-2) gives the Lightning their 7th win in 8 games and just the school's second playoff victory. They will travel to Lake Wales(10-1) next week for the Region Championship.

Jupiter Christian will not three-peat, Glades Day sent the Eagle's home with a 45-44 win on the road. They get Out-of-Door in the state semi's.
