Playoffs: Week 1 Review

It was a thrilling first week of the playoffs, three time defending State Champ Pahokee was ousted by Chaminade, North Florida Christian will not be around to defend their title, and several teams came up with huge wins.

HEADLINE RESULTS

Chaminade shutout Pahokee 35-0. Pahokee had been in six straight title games, won five of 6 championships and had three straight titles.

Deland 46-0 over previously unbeaten Orange Park. Deland gets their re-match with Mainland.

St. Pete went on the road, jumped out early and beat Venice 28-21. They travel to Manatee for round two.

Fort Walton Beach took Pine Forest out with a 42-39 win. Their reward is a road trip to Niceville.

Defending State Champion North Florida Christian is out after a 31-27 loss to Melbourne Central Catholic.

Miami Central handled Columbus 36-7, the Rockets will take on Northwestern for a second time....this one also played at FIU Stadium.

Lehigh won their first ever playoff game with a 15-7 win over Riverdale.

Seabreeze defeated Fletcher 30-27, they play at Fleming Island next week.

Dr. Phillips was tested, but they sent Trevor Siemian and Olympia out of the playoffs 23-22. Apopka at Dr. Phillips.

Braden River will host their first playoff game after a double OT win over Winter Haven. Lake Wales is their opponent after their own double OT win over Southeast.

Baker County sent Madison County home with a 26-17 victory.

North Broward Prep out-gunned Gulliver in a 38-33 win.
