Playoff Picture: Panhandle

There is one more week of District Games(in most cases), here is a look at who is in the playoff's already and those teams that need a win to get in.

4A

District 1: Pine Forest is in and they are district champs. Pace needs to beat Milton to secure the runner-up spot. A loss brings Milton and Tate into the playoff picture.

District 2: Undefeated Niceville needs a win against Crestview for the district title. A loss, coupled with a Fort Walton Beach win (over Mosley) would have a three team playoff for two spots. A Niceville win with a Mosley win means Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, and Mosley will playoff for the final spot.

District 3: Lincoln is in and are district champs. Leon plays Wakulla for the runner-up spot.

3A

District 1: Pensacola is in as district champion, Choctawatchee is the runner-up.

2A

District 1: Madison County sits at 1-1 in this three team district. Godby(1-0) play at Rickards(0-1) on Friday night. If Godby wins, they are district champs and Madison County is in as runner-up. A Rickards wins forces a three way playoff for two spots.

2B

District 1: Pensacola Catholic is in and they play Chipley on Friday night. A win forces Chipley, Marianna, and Walton into a three team playoff for the second spot. A Chipley win gives them a District Title.

District 2: Taylor County and Florida State University are in the playoffs, they play Friday night for the District Title.

1A

District 1: South Walton and Freeport

District 2: Blountstown is 4-0, but plays 3-1 Liberty County on Friday, Port St. Joe is also 3-1 and they will play Wewahitchka(1-3).

District 3: Defending State Champion North Florida Christian needs a win vs. Providence to secure 2nd place in the district.

1B

District 1: Jefferson County is in as District Champs, FAMU is the district runner-up.

TOP 5 OVERALL TEAMS

1. Niceville

2. Pine Forest

3. Pensacola

4. Madison County

5. North Florida Christian

TEAM MOST LIKELY TO WIN STATE TITLE

North Florida Christian: They will need to find a way to get past Trinity Christian, but this team got the job done last year and have been a fixture on state championship weekend. Niceville seems to be in good shape, Pine Forest lurks for another showdown amongst the area powers.
