Week 5 was highlighted by the big win by St. Thomas over Byrnes, here are some scores from across the state.

DADE

Miami Central moved to 5-0 with a 36-0 win over Carol City. The Rockets will get ready for Thursday's showdown with Northwestern.

Chaminade defeated Miami Pace 24-20 for a big district win. QB Jerrard Randall threw for 68 yards and ran for 114.

Northwestern plays Booker T. Washington on Saturday night.

BROWARD

In a battle of #1 vs. #2 in the country, St. Thomas defeated Byrnes(SC) 42-34. The Raiders made the big plays when they needed them.

Deerfield Beach pummeled St. Cloud 41-6.

Cardinal Gibbons beat neighborhood rival Northeast Thursday night 29-22. Down 22-6 at the half, the Chief's rallied behind the passing of Chris Rapka.

Dillard defeated Cypress Bay 16-15 on a 58 yard TD run by Otis Wright in the 4th quarter.

Boyd Anderson scored 13 unanswered in the 4th quarter to put away Taravella 34-17.

PALM BEACH

Pahokee beat North Broward Prep 31-20.

Dwyer jumped all over Atlantic with 21 unanswered points in the first and second quarter, they cruised to a 49-7 win.

Santaluces defeated Ft. Pierce Central 21-18.

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

Ida Baker moved to 5-0 and pitched their third shutout of the season with a 48-0 win over North Port.

Lehigh upset Lely 20-17 for a crucial district win. Russell Barton (92 yarder) and Markese Brantley (28) caught TD's from Lance Williams in the 4th quarter.

Venice scored 20 unanswered in the second half to pull away from Southeast 34-10.

TAMPA

Plant beat Armwood 17-7 in game between two of Tampa's premier programs.

Tampa Bay Tech beat Alonso 45-21.

Tarpon Springs beat Largo 28-20.

ORLANDO

Apopka gave Miami Jackson there first loss 29-15.

Deland shutout Seminole 19-0.

Lakeland pounded Plantation 46-14

JACKSONVILLE

Jackson beat Ed White 41-20, Marquel Wade returned an onside kick 50 yards to ice the game.

First Coast beat Mandarin 29-21 behind RB Daron White's 104 yards rushing.

St. Augustine 38, Ponte Vedra 14.

TALLAHASSEE

Pine Forest made most the big plays in a 48-17 win over Lincoln.

North Florida Christian cruised past Ft. White 41-14.

Madison County pounded Lake City Columbia 56-14.
