Here is recap of action from around the state in week 3.

DADE

Northwestern beat Hialeah 42-20 pulling away in the second half by scoring 26 unanswered.

Booker T. Washington throttled North Miami 54-0 behind QB Jeremiah Hay's 9-12, 137 yard effort.

Homestead beat Southwest 47-0. Darren Kitchens housed the opening kickoff (80 yards) and Demetrius Pettway added a 53 yard punt return.

Belen beat Gulliver 37-19 amassing over 300 yards on the ground.

BROWARD

Cypress Bay(2-1) held off Deerfield Beach 28-27 by stopping a two point conversion in the waning seconds. The lightning ran for 244 yards.

Ely(3-0) beat Taravella 46-21 to give new coach Rodney Gray his first win.

Northeast(1-1) beat Dillard 8-2 in a defensive slugfest. Junior DE Bryant Dubose had a monster game and DB Tyrell King is making plays in the secondary.

PALM BEACH

Dwyer(2-1) beat Pahokee 34-6 as the Blue Devil's self destructed in the second half. Three of their last four TD's were scored on defense: Curt Maggitt 38 yard fumble return, Mcclaine 42 yard interception return, and Mike Ruiz 28 yard interception return.

Jupiter Christian(3-0) beat Lake Worth 40-21. QB Marshyl Rothman threw for 148 and scored on a 73 yard run. Will Powers added 110 on the ground.

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

Manatee(3-0) beat Southeast 30-26 after a few costly Seminole mistakes and some timely running by Brion Carnes and Mike Blakeley.

Dunbar(2-1) saw their offense start to hit their stride in a 31-7 win over Ft. Myers. Young QB Tyrece Jiles threw for 171 yards and RB Darius Deloach ran for 97 and threw a 62 yard halfback pass for a score.

Cape Coral(3-0) held off North Ft. Myers 25-20, but still committed five turnovers. The rushing attack did the damage: Jaylen Watkins (9-63), Spencer Boyd (15-92), and Jeremy Davis (4-49).

TAMPA

Tampa Catholic beat Trinity Catholic 17-7. Tampa Catholic did not turn it over and Trinity did 5 times, the difference in this game. They could see each other in the playoffs down the road.

Armwood(2-0) held off Tampa Bay Tech 9-6 in a game that saw many defensive big plays. TB Tech scored and got the onsides kicks with less than two minutes to play, but could not capitalize.

Wesley Chapel beat Wiregrass Ranch 23-8 behind RB John Mahan's 132 yards.

Largo moved to 3-0 with a 42-32 win over Gibbs.

ORLANDO

Dr. Phillips(3-0) remained unbeaten by holding off Olympia 27-20. RB Demetrius Hart gained 69 yards and QB Nick Patti threw for 152 yards (75 to Kenny Shaw).

Apopka (3-0) beat Edgewater 15-6 behind a tremendous defensive performance led by Bradley Gallon.

Deland outlasted Seabreeze 49-48 in a game that saw huge offensive plays on both sides.

Winter Park(3-0) pounded Boone 59-14.

EAST COAST

Mainland(2-1) rallied in the 4th quarter to beat Osceola 32-21. QB Quinn Bell threw 2 late TD's to WR O.J. Ross to ice the game. RB Marlin Lane went over 100 yards again.

JACKSONVILLE

Mandarin(2-1) defeated Parker 45-27 behind RB Marcel Jenkins 123 yards.

St. Augustine relied on the run to get to 3-0 on the year. Clarence Jones(9-120, 2 td's) and Duane Brady (11-79, 2 td's) both had solid games on the ground.

Bolles beat Plantation American Heritage 42-6 behind QB Chandler Carr's arm. He threw two long strikes to Jay Herndon and another to Jawan Jamison in the win.

PANHANDLE

Niceville jumped out early 14-0 on Pine Forest and held on for a 28-20 win in yet another classic game between these rivals.

Rickards beat East Gadsden 34-6 behind QB Terry Johnson's 12-20 for 241 yard night.

Arnold's offense was fantastic in a 49-6 win over Munroe.

Fort Walton Beach beat Pace 22-21 behind QB Luke Barnes 22-37 255 yard night.

NORTH CENTRAL FLORIDA

Leon beat Gainesville Eastside 22-14.
