Kickoff Classic Games of the Week

The Florida high school football season kicks off this Wednesday through Saturday for the Kickoff Classic/Jamboree games. While these games don't count in the W/L column, they are a great opportunity to see where teams, players, and coaches are at. Here are some of the more intriguing games from across the state.

THE PANHANDLE

JUPITER CHRISTIAN vs. NORTH FLORIDA CHRISTIAN(Friday): This might be the most competitive game in the state as the defending 1A champs take on the defending 1B champs. Both teams are favored to repeat.

EAST COAST

BOYD ANDERSON AT TREASURE COAST(Thursday): Two teams with big expectations and a host of D-1 talent.

DADE COUNTY

CYPRESS BAY AT MONSIGNOR PACE(Thursday): 6A Cypress Bay is re-loading, but still should be a stern test for 2A Pace, a team with big expectations.

COLUMBUS AT BOOKER T WASHINGTON(Thursday): Where is Booker T. at with their wealth of talent vs. a very good Columbus team.

GLADES CENTRAL AT CAROL CITY(Saturday): Glades is always good, are the Chiefs gonna take the next step and return to glory?

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

SOUTH FT MYERS AT BARRON COLLIER(Friday): Is talented South as good as they are expected to be, Collier will be a good test. This could be a future playoff game in November.

HIALEAH AT NAPLES(Friday): Naples gets a look at a solid 6A Dade team.

JACKSONVILLE

FIRST COAST AT BOLLES(Friday): First Coast gets first crack at talented Bolles.

TRINITY CHRISTIAN AT ED WHITE(Friday): Trinity has a lot of talent, can they stop Casey Turner?

POLK COUNTY

LAKE GIBSON AT LAKELAND(Friday): Always powerful Lakeland can't wait to get back on the field.

TAMPA

HILLSBOROUGH AT SOUTHEAST(Friday): No warm up game here as two teams with high hopes square off.

MANATEE AT PLANT(Friday): Manatee missed the playoffs and responded by pounding Largo in the Spring, Plant has won 2 state titles in 3 years.

OUT OF STATE

VENICE AT OSCAR SMITH(Virginia- Saturday):

ST THOMAS AQUINAS AT UPPER ARLINGTON(Ohio-Saturday)

Venice and St. Thomas go on the road to represent the Sunshine State across the country.
