2005 BEEF O'BRADY'S TOP 25: Week No. 9

Once again, there are some changes in the popular all-classification Beef O'Brady's Florida High School Football Poll. Don't foret to listen to the "Race For Miami" each and every week with host Steve Berrey.

JACKSONVILLE – Lakeland continues to have a strangle-hold on the top spot of the Beef 'O' Brady's Top 25, Florida's only all-classification football poll.

The Dreadnaughts ran their winning streak 23 straight while St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale, 5A) squeaked out a win over cross-town rival Hollywood Hills and remained #2. Miami Washington (4A) edged out district rival Miami Edison 13-12 and stayed #3. Miami Central wasn't so fortunate, as the Rockets fell to Miami Lakes (Hialeah) 21-20 and tumbled all the way to #16. It's the second straight week a Top 5 team has fallen. Hillsborough (4A, Tampa) climbed to the #4 spot vacated by the Rockets and Edgewater (6A, Orlando) moved up to #5.

Very little movement in the poll, other than the exit of Hollywood Hills following its loss to St. Thomas Aquinas and the entry of panhandle power Pace. The Patriots are off to their best start in years and earned the #25 spot in this week's balloting of sportswriters and sports broadcasters across the state.
