FEATS OF THE WEEK: Second-ranked Mission Viejo flexed its offensive muscles in a 41-14 drubbing of regionally ranked Long Beach Poly. Junior running back Chane Moline rushed for 201 yards and Southern Cal-bound QB Mark Sanchez tossed three TD passes. The Diablos improved their record to 47-1 over the last four seasons. This week they travel to face four-time defending Prep Poll champ Concord, De La Salle.
The longest winning streak ever in New York's Section 3 came to an end when Nedrow, Onondaga Central was upset by Weedsport, 15-7. The Tigers had won 43 straight games, dating back to 2000.
T. (Thomas) McFerrin of Snellville, South Gwinnett became the seventh coach in Georgia history to win 300 games with his team's 35-6 rout of Norcross, Meadowcreek. McFerrin is 300-89-4 in 29 seasons.
Chicago, Mount Carmel, high school home of Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb and Tampa Bay Buccaneers DE Simeon Rice, collected its 600th win in a 42-35 defeat of St. Rita.
