Some of the top teams in Florida and throughout the east will meet in Jacksonville on Jan. 9-10 for the Fourth Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Basketball Classic.

The 4th annual Martin Luther King Classic, under the direction of RJM Sporting & Events, Inc to be held at Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida on January 9th and 10th, 2004. The proceeds of this shootout will benefit each high school athletic program with exposure.

This tournament is designed to bring exposure to boy's highs school basketball in Florida. The teams participating are Raines, Ribault, Jackson, Bartram Trail, Stanton, Englewood, Wolfson, First Coast, Winter Haven, Miami Northwestern, P.K Younge (Gainesville, Florida), Admiral Farragut Academy (St. Petersburg), Marlboro County & Calhoun County, (South Carolina), Woodham high (Pensacola) and Dr.Phillips (Orlando).

These are sixteen of the top teams in the State of Florida amd South Carolina and it’s going to be a stellar event. The tickets will be sold the day of the game at Raines High School for $6.00. Tickets will be issued to each participating team and the tickets that are not sold will be sent back to Raines and sold the day of the game.

The schedule for Friday is as follows:
6:00 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Jackson vs. Pensacola Woodham
7:30 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Ribault vs. Miami Northwestern
9:00 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Raines vs. Malbaro County (South Carolina)

The schedule for Saturday is as follows:

10:30 a.m. Jacksonville, FL Stanton vs P.K Younge
12:00 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Wolfson vs Pensacola Woodham
1:30 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Bartram Trail vs. Miami Northwestern
3:00 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Englewood vs. Admiral Farragut Academy
4:30 p.m. Jacksonville, FL First Coast vs. Winter Haven
6:00 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Ribault vs. Malbaro County (South Carolina)
7:30 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Raines vs. Dr.Phillips (Orlando)
9:00 p.m. Jacksonville, FL Jackson vs. Calhoun County, (South Carolina)
