Cajuns Looking to Close Strong

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns are hosting a strong group of prospects this weekend to close out the 2013 Signing Class. A few of this weekend's visitors could finish off Coach Hudspeth's most impressive collection of signees yet.

This weekend's group of visitors could help UL attain its highest ranked class since it began play in the Sun Belt Conference. Two LSU commitments are expected to be part of this weekend's visitor list.

Local Westgate product and current LSU commitment Josh Boutte (6'5,320) scheduled a visit earlier in January. Boutte is Scout.com's #8 ranked offensive guard.

Denham Springs HS defensive lineman Tevin Lawson (6'4,275) schedule a visit within the last few days after learning the he would get a greyshirt offer from LSU. Lawson is Scout.com's #49 ranked defensive tackle.

Current UL commitment DE Demeatre Casey (6'4,225) is set to take his official visit with this weekend's group of visitors. Casey is one of Louisiana's top prep sleepers in the 2013 class.

Mendenhall HS QB Khaderal Hodge (6'1,185) is looking for an opportunity to play under center at the next level. Hodge could help UL at WR or DB if needed as well.

Walker HS DB Carlton Perkins (6'0,188) has been waiting to visit Louisiana and is expected to in tonight. Perkins in another versatile athlete that could help the Cajuns at WR or RB should they need him.

Sebastian River LB James Clark (6'2,210) is Scout.com's #48 ranked OLB and another visitor set for this weekend. Kentucky, Memphis and UL are hoping to land this athletic defender.

Fair Park HS DB Savion Brown (6'1,190) was set to visit UL this weekend after breaking his ankle last summer at LSU's camp and only play two games his senior season. Brown is still short on his ACT test score at this time.

OL Christian Voelkel (6'3,270) visited Southeastern Louisiana last weekend with an offer and is looking to land a spot at UL in the 2013 class.

Late notes: DT Chris Robinson committed to Southern Miss and DE Hakem Gray a Louisiana Tech will not come in this weekend after setting up visits in January.
