Virgile wins state title

Wake Forest is getting a champion. Prior to winning a Florida 7A state championship with St. Thomas Aquinas, Lance Virgile gave his verbal pledge to the Demon Deacon coaches. Then, last Friday, December 14th in Orlando's Citrus Bowl, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker helped his team, the Raiders, to their seventh state title in school history.

"It was Tuesday, December 11th, during an in-home visit that I officially committed to Wake Forest," said Lance Virgile.
