Louisville continues to recruit Dade County hard and today it yielded two more commits. Miami Norland teammates Brandon Snell(WR) and Teko Powell(DT) committed to the Cardinals. The 3A state runner-up now has four players committed to D-1 schools(RB Duke Johnson and LB Keith Brown to Miami). Offensive linemen Ereck Flowers is sure to be another one as he has attracted a lot of interest this Spring. He looks in line for some major BCS offers.
Northwestern WR Amari Cooper is on the rise. Miami, FSU, and several SEC schools are moving in on the talented wide-out. Cooper missed a lot of his junior season due to injury, but he has been lights out in the off-season camps and is having a strong Spring.
Sleeper alert in Southwest Florida as a couple of players have hit the radar. Golden Gate WR Rahheam Mariano is playing his first year of football after moving in from Belize. Mariano is 6'1 and has elite hands. Obviously very raw, but with QB Kenneth Mouton at the helm, he has a chance to put together a strong senior season. Golden Gate has more D-1 prospects in LB Stanley Sylverain, OL/DT Shannon Lopez, WR Frantz Dorvil, and 2013 athlete Kendrick Mouton.
Lehigh LB Korey Robinson should join CB Malik Simmons in the D-1 ranks. The 6'1 athlete is starting to put the weight on and he runs well. This whole team is strong and Robinson is the leader on defense.
Miramar's Malcolm Lewis holds all the Big 3 offers as well as many more. He might be the top WR in the state on the field at the moment. West Virginia has strong tie's to the school and they are also in on athlete Devonte Mathis.
Clay OL Will Holden holds five D-1 offers with USF joining Louisville, Bowling Green, FAU, and FIU. At 6'6, more offers appear on the way. Braddock's Robert Conyers has had a similar Spring as the offers have been rolling in for the first team All-Dade standout. USF, Illlinois, Memphis, Wake Forest, Marshall, and FAU have all offered.
South Ft. Myers CB Nate Dortch is starting to attract a lot of attention. He has pulled in several offers and more seem on the way. The 6'0 CB has gotten a lot of experience the last two years guarding Sammy Watkins in practice.
Is 2013 the year of the WR? It certainly appears that way with Stacey Coley, Jordan Cunningham, Ahmad Fulwood, Richard Benjamin, Alex Montgomery, and Reggie Davis attracting serious attention this Spring.
A lot of schools have been impressed with Hillsborough WR Evan Jennings. At 6'3, he made some plays last year and is just coming into his own as a player. There is a lot of upside here. DT Earl Moore has impressed as well, he has added about 15 pounds of muscle.
Many believe it to be only a matter of time before John Theus commits to Georgia.......that has not stopped over 40 schools from stopping in at Bolles to check him out. UF and FSU are going to make a legit run at him. He is considered one of the top OTs in the country. His brother, Nathan, committed to UGA last year.
