School: Fort Meade HS, Fort Meade FL
Measurables: 6'2 205
40 Time: 4.6
Bench Press: 300 lbs
Grades: 3.5 core/no test
Sophomore Stats: Jamie recorded 117 Tackles as a sophomore and broke a school record recording 16 sacks
Junior Stats: As a junior he missed the first 5 games while recovering from a minor off season shoulder surgery. The 5 games did not hold him back much as he was still able to record more than 90 tackles and he was also still able to record another impressive 13 sacks.
Closer look: Jamie is about as impressive specimen that you are going to see.
He is a very rangy athletic kid who plays defensive end at Fort Meade out of necessity but appears he is better suited to play outside linebacker at the next level.
Jamie has excellent speed & closes on the ball in a hurry. On his sophomore film you will see that he is nearly unblockable using raw talent.
After looking at his junior season film (attached below) it seems he really has a much better grasp on the position and now utilizes his hands much better allowing him to get off blocks.
Another area we have noticed a tremendous improved is that he appears to be under much better control which has resulted in him not over running the play.
Bottom Line: Jamie had an impressive start to his career recording 29 sacks in two seasons.
As impressive as he was as an underclassman he was still heavily overshadowed by All American TE Brandon Fulse.
Fulse will now pass on the torch as he takes his services to Auburn to suit up for the 2011 National Champions.
Brandon makes the second Fort Meade Miner to sign with the Tigers in the last 3 years. With a strong senior season Jamie could very well put himself in position to receive BCS offers of that caliber.
