"I think I did pretty good. My stats were real solid; I think I had a pretty good season. I had a lot of great games and want to build on my success next year. I had a concussion for a few games during the season but it didn't stop me," Danny Dillard said.
He' already begun the offseason workouts and will spend ample amounts of time both in the weight room and on the track. Dillard posted an 11.38 100-meter time during last track season. "I'm going through all the workouts and spending time in the weight room. I want to continue to improve, I'm working real hard," Dillard quoted. He's already caught the eye of several big name programs this season, and he's beginning to sort them all out.
"I'm hearing from Florida UCLA, FSU, Wisconsin, and Ohio State. There's a lot of schools really are interested in me right now," Dillard stated. "I think Florida, Ohio State, and Florida State are my top three right now, with Florida being my number one."
The Gators have caught Dillard's eye during his visits to the swamp recently. Ohio State is a school he's been following for awhile with an offensive scheme that he really enjoys.
"I've been to couple Florida games this season to check them out, but I haven't really visited anyone else yet," he explained. "Ohio State has always been a favorite of mine. I love the play calling there and how they run the ball. I like the style of the offense they play. I haven't been up there for a game, but I really want to get up there and see it. I'm getting hand written letters Coach Johnson, and I'm going to send them my highlight film once I get it completed. I've talked with them several times on the phone and it's been good so far, I'm hoping for an offer." Dillard states that atmosphere and his comfort with his new coaches will be key in his decision making process.
"I think I'd like to commit early in the process and get it over with. I want to focus on my season ahead," Dillard revealed. "I'm really big on choosing a school based on atmosphere. I want to be very comfortable with where I'm at and the coaches I'm with. I'd like to be able to play my freshman year some. Distance doesn't matter to me, but my family would like me to be closer. I really want to get out, so we'll just have to see how it goes."
He's as focused in the classroom as he is on the field, and taking care of his grades are a top concern.
"I have a 3.0 GPA and I'm taking the ACT in February. I know it's important to get all that straight and keep it up," Dillard finished.
