Kenneth Mouton

Lehigh traveled to Golden Gate for a critical 3A- District 12 contest. The Lightning pulled away in the second half for a 27-12 victory. Here is a look at how the prospects fared.

2011 Safety Derek Wells

Wells has good size at 6'0, 180 and has played both CB and Safety this year. Tonight he lined up at Safety where he had an interception while being active against the run. He boomed two punts of over 50 yards as well. He is a terrific athlete that is still waiting for his first D-1 offer, that should not last too much longer as he has had a great season thus far.

Simmons plays QB but will be a DB at the next level
Geoff Vogt,

2012 Athlete Malik Simmons

Simmons played QB as he has all year for the Lightning. He projects to the defensive side of the ball, most likely Safety. He has good size at 6'0 and the speed/athleticism to project well there. Simmons showed physicality as a runner. He actually went 4-5 for 79 yards and a touchdown. He looks like one of the top prospects in the SW Florida area for 2012.

2011 RB Curtavious Thornton

Thornton is short--let's get that out of the way- but he is very difficult to tackle. He had 26 carries for 179 yards and this was his fifth game(out of six) where he has gone for over 100 yards. He is quick and has good deep speed. He is a very tough runner. More than a few times he turned a potential loss into positive yards by making players miss.

2011 CB Isiah Crawford

Excellent cover corner who has the height(6'0), but is on the thin side(155). Even on a play where he gave up a big gain, he was in perfect position. He had at least three pass break-ups. He has long range potential after he develops physically.

2011 OL Michael McCarter is a physical presence on the offensive line. At 6'2, he is athletic. 2011 WR/TE Lance Williams caught the TD on a beautiful catch where he displayed the ability to accelerate and reel in an over the shoulder catch at full speed- beautiful play. 2011 DE Jeremy Smith has a great frame and was active at times Friday night.

2012 LB Isaac Reed might have been the player of the game, he returned an interception for a touchdown and was in on a lot of plays. He is undersized. 2011 DB Jamaris Brown did not play.

2012 QB Kenneth Mouton

Mouton is putting together an excellent junior season and it is easy to see why. At 6'1+ and 200 pounds he has a plus arm with accuracy. He bought time late in the first half and fired a dart down the middle for a TD. He has the athleticism to get yards with his feet as well throw on the run. He has a bright future.

Sylverain is an impressive looking 2012 prospect
Geoff Vogt,

2012 LB Stanley Sylverain

Sylverain is very impressive looking physically. At 6'2, 205 he has long arms and plenty of speed and athleticism. He had a quiet first half, but came on in the second with some more plays. He needs to do a better job getting off of blocks, but the tools are there for him to be a player down the road. He had a terrific sophomore season at DE.

2011 DB Peterson Janvier

Janvier had a solid game. He sports multiple D-1 offers and displayed excellent closing speed and pop on a pair of stops around the goal line on two point conversion attempts. Athletically he has it all, his ceiling would be at CB where his physicality would be coveted. He did not get a chance to make a play on special teams, but is dangerous there.

2011 LB Fedney Delphonse is similar to Sylverain, albeit a year older. He has good length and athleticism as well as the ability to get after the passer. 2012 OL Shannon Lopez was a DT last year, but has settled into his future position on the Offensive Line. He is an athlete with natural size, certainly one to keep an eye on.

2011 OL Esteban Llorente has some tools to work with, he will play college ball. 2012 Running Back Jermaine Troutman never quite got it going, but still showed the quickness and elusiveness to be an offensive weapon.

2011 CB Billy Paul has started to attract D-1 interest because of a solid skill set including good height(5'11). Looking down the road, 2013 WR Keovis Brice is already 6'3, he caught five balls and has intriguing upside. He needs to work on his speed. 2011 WR Javon Burks made a terrific catch on the sideline where he went up and over the CB. Recommended Stories
