Prospect Report: Dillard vs. Cypress Bay

Wayne Lyons

Dillard traveled to Cypress Bay on Thursday night for a non-district contest. The Panther's jumped out to a 7-0 half-time lead, but Lightning rallied in the second half for a 21-19 victory. Here is a look at how the prospects fared.

2013 WR Alex Montgomery

The sophomore broke loose a few times down the field and scored what turned out to be the game winner in the 4th quarter(36 yard TD catch). He has good size already with a powerful build. While Cypress Bay likes to run the ball, they gave him some opportunities and he delivered. It is early, but he has the look of a BCS prospect in two years.

2012 OG Danny Isidora

Isidora possesses terrific size and he is light on his feet. At 6'3-6'4 and 300 pounds he has a world of upside. He has plenty to work on, but he will get the coaching at Cypress Bay. Technique and time are the only things holding Isidora back. He played on both sides of the line at OT, but we he probably heads inside at the next level. Isidora should be a BCS prospect next year.

2011 RB Dan Epstein

Epstein had 13 carries for 69 yards and had several key runs in the game. He is not the biggest nor fastest Running Back, but he does have excellent vision and he runs very hard. It is hard to know how versatile he could be as he does not have a lot of opportunity to showcase his athleticism. He should continue getting looks down the stretch.

2014 Safety Marquise Dudley was a freshmen who caught our eye. We will see how he develops. 2011 WR Varian Roberson played on both sides of the ball; he has size and athleticism, but is raw. 2013 QB Jaranta Lewis had some moments, there are some tools to work with.

2011 Safety Wayne Lyons

Lyons left the game in the second half with an injury, he was on crutches and had ice on his knee. He is expected to miss some time. Lyons sports offers from all over the country and he showed some versatility by playing both ways. He is being recruited as a Safety and that was where he made his plays.

2011 CB Allen Ramsey

The Wake Forest commit really impressed us with length, athleticism, and hips. He has flown under the radar to a certain degree recruiting wise, that could change. He had an interception in the first half and was in on a lot of tackles. 6'0 CBs are hard to find, with his long arms, quick hips, and speed he has a very bright future.

2011 OL Dwayne Montgomery

Montgomery is another quality linemen that we have seen this year. He is tall and lean at 6'4, 260ish and really has some quality feet. As with most linemen it is about getting bigger and stronger. Montgomery should have plenty of D-1 options by signing day.

2011 RB Otis Wright

Wright has really improved since last year and he had a big game with 26 carries for 196 yards. He showed quality speed on a 50 yard TD run and ran well inside and out. He did have a couple of fumbles which was the only negative. He has enough talent to play another position.

2013 RB Eldred Oates scored the other two TDs on short runs where he really displayed a lot of power. At 6'0, 180ish he looked excellent in limited carries at RB. 2012 QB Xavier Roberts had some moments, particularly buying time with his feet. He will have to transition to another position, likely WR. 2013 DE Torrin Young has the chance to be very good down the road. 2011 WR William Dukes had three catches.
